What will your child get out of this?
By the end of the workshop, your child will be able to:
Perform confidently
Understand how to lip sync
Know the basics of recording audio
Why do I care?
I am a Peruvian immigrant to the US and I have always felt like I miss my family no matter where I am. I have discovered that being able to share my recorded music and videos, I can bring my aunts, uncles, and cousins into my life and my progress as an artist even when I am not able to see them every year. Music videos are a language that can be understood across cultures because of the stories they tell and the feelings they evoke. Whether you have family up in Northern California, in the East Coast, or in another country and/or continent all together, this music video of your child can help bring your family together
Why me?
I have an MFA in Voice and Music Production from California Institute of the Arts and a Bachelors in Music in Music Composition and Theory (with a piano concentration) from Boston University. Additionally, I have over 8 years of teaching experience with students ages 4-80+ in one-on-one settings and group settings. You can see some of my community projects here and some of my group music workshops here.
Additionally, I have been a recording artist since 2018. My debut album Simp’ashani: Canciones Trenzadas was recorded in my own home studio with the same equipment I will use to record your child.* You can listen to my complete recording discography here.
Being an independent and unsigned artist has also meant that I have kept a DIY spirit. Here are all of the music videos I co-created with collaborators. Here is a link to a music video I made for myself on my own.
*the interludes and field recordings in my album were recorded on my iPhone.
